Shrinemaiden, I've been watching your work for some time now, and as a fellow artist (with a different medium) I have but one thing to tell you. Don't tell folks that you didn't have time to finish. I honestly thought that was a finished work (sketch) before I read your caption. Just let your work speak for itself, don't talk it down. But that's just my own humble opinion.
The pose is evocative of (but doesn't blindly copy) the Citadel miniature for the Emperor's Champion, establishing a fine allusion to bold courage and heroism. The soft blurs around the edge of her figure and the contrast of the black body with the white background also establish an interesting juxtaposition of moods: this Battle Sister is achieving great, triumphant things, soaring into radiant brilliance and dissolving into immaculate divine magnificence - however, her dark body is grimly suggestive of the terrible ravagings that will be wreaked in order to achieve this magnificent apotheosis. A powerful atmosphere!
